About the School

Mpererwe Primary School has a rich history that dates back to 1923, when it was founded as a church-sponsored institution. The school's growth and popularity led to the church taking official ownership in 1926, and later, the government assumed responsibility for its management in 1930, a partnership that continues to this day.

According to the Headteacher, the school's humble beginnings saw an initial enrollment of 52 pupils, which steadily increased over the years. Today, the school proudly boasts a student body of 1,080, comprising 494 boys and 586 girls.

In addition to its academic rigor, Mpererwe Primary School places a strong emphasis on co-curricular activities, including athletics, ball games, and academic competitions such as quizzes and debates. This well-rounded approach to education has enabled the school to produce well-rounded individuals who excel in various fields.
